Organizing Standards with Folders
Overview
Folders let you group standards in your library by subject, grade level, strand, or any structure that matches how you teach. Once your library grows beyond a handful of standards, folders make it much faster to find and assign the right ones to a course. This article covers creating folders, moving standards and folders into them, nesting folders, and deleting folders.
Creating a folder
- Click Standards Library in the left sidebar.
- Click New Folder.
- Enter a name for the folder.
- Click Save.
The folder appears in your library. Click it to expand or collapse its contents.
Moving a standard into a folder
- In the Standards Library, find the standard you want to move.
- Click the move icon on that standard.
- Select the destination folder from the list.
- Click Move.
The standard now appears inside the selected folder and is removed from its previous location.
Nesting folders
You can place a folder inside another folder to create a multi-level structure — for example, Math > Grade 5 > Number and Operations.
- In the Standards Library, find the folder you want to move.
- Click the move icon on that folder.
- Select the destination folder from the list.
- Click Move.
The folder and all of its contents move into the destination folder.
A common structure is Subject → Grade Level → Strand. Build the top-level folders first, then move sub-folders and standards into them.
Deleting a folder
Deleting a folder permanently deletes all standards and sub-folders inside it. Move any standards you want to keep before deleting.
- In the Standards Library, find the folder you want to delete.
- Click the delete icon on that folder.
- Confirm the deletion in the dialog that appears.
