Assigning Standards to a Course
Overview
Assigning standards to a course tells AstraGrade which standards to track for that class. Once standards are assigned, you can record assessment ratings against them and AstraGrade will compute each student’s overall mastery score per standard. A course needs at least one standard before you can record ratings.
Prerequisites
You must have standards in your library before you can assign them. See Building Your Standards Library.
Assigning standards from the course
- Open the course you want to add standards to.
- Click the Standards tab.
- Click Add Standards.
- In the modal that appears, check the standards you want to assign to this course.
- Click Add.
Assigning standards from the Standards Library
If you want to assign the same standards to multiple courses at once, use the bulk assignment flow from the Standards Library.
- Click Standards Library in the left sidebar.
- Click Add Standards to Course.
- Check each standard you want to assign.
- Click Assign to Course and select the course from the dropdown.
The Standards Library bulk assignment is the fastest way to set up a new course if it shares standards with an existing one — select all the standards you need and pick the destination course in one step.
Removing a standard from a course does not delete the standard from your library. It only unlinks it from that specific course.
