Managing Enrollments Mid-Year
Overview
You can enroll new students in a course at any point during the school year. Adding a student mid-year does not affect the existing roster or any assessment scores already recorded. New students start with no data and will have no computed mastery until you record their first rating.
Adding a student mid-year
The mid-year enrollment flow is identical to enrolling students at the start of the year.
- Open the course you want to add the student to.
- Click the Students tab.
- Click Enroll Students.
- Enter the student’s First Name and Last Name. Student ID is optional.
- Click Enroll Students (the button shows how many students you’re about to add). The student appears in the roster with no assessment data.
To add multiple students at once, click Add Another Student before submitting, or click Upload CSV to import a roster file.
If you have paper or digital records from before the student was added to AstraGrade, you can record those scores against past assessments after enrolling them. Open the relevant assessment and enter ratings for the new student the same way you would for anyone else.
AstraGrade does not currently support removing a student from a course’s roster. If a student leaves your class, their record and any scores you’ve entered will remain in the gradebook.
